Our strategic plan draws together the priorities identified by our members into five Key Priorities. These Five priorities will guide the work of YAA over the next 5 years.
They are as follows:
1. WORKING FOR YOUNG PEOPLE
To support young people experiencing (or at risk of) homelessness through advocacy and direct services. This constitutes one of the core tasks for YAA and is strongly supported through consulations with members. YAA aims to acheieve this through advocacy & the provision of direct services to young people and consultation.
2.SECTOR DEVELOPMENT AND CAPACITY BUILDING
To support and assist the development of a sustainable, dynamic and credible sector which provides the most effective response to the needs of young people experiencing/or at risk of homelessness. YAA aims to used its policy work and direct service provision to achieve this goal.
3.SUSTAINING THE CAPACITY OF YAA
To ensure that YAA is a sustainable, dynamic and credible organization. This requires our engagenment with the membership, as well as increasing awarness of YAA inside & out of the sector.
4. GOOD PRACTICE & LEARNING ORGANISATION
To develop and demonstrate innovation and model good practice in governance, operations and projects. To ensure YAA is an organisation that excels in its activities requires that the organisation works to add quality and an ethical practice dimension to that work.
5. RESEARCH & EVIDENCE BASE
To further research and develop evidence base on young people experiencing homelessness and the services that work with them in NSW. Through the use & promotion of research in the sector YAA hopes to work from a solid & valid research base.
