Which Way Home? (Homelessness Green Paper)
On 22 May 2008, the Prime Minister, The Hon Kevin Rudd MP and Minister for Housing, Tanya Plibersek MP released the Green Paper and invited public discussion and written contributions to inform the development of the White Paper. The white paper will set out the Government's national plan of action in this area to 2020.

The Road Home (Homelessness White Paper)
On 21 December 2008, the Prime Minister, the Hon Kevin Rudd MP and Minister for Housing, Tanya Plibersek MP, released the Government's White Paper on Homelessness:
The Road Home. The Road Home sets the strategic agenda for reducing homelessness to 2020. Homelessness can affect anyone and reducing it is everyone's responsibility. Working together, with national leadership and towards a common goal, homelessness can be prevented. Australia's efforts to reduce homelessness have to be urgent, as well as sustained. Specifically,
The Road Home goals by 2020 are to: Halve overall homelessness; and Offer supported accommodation to all rough sleepers who need it.

Along The Road Home
This Federal Government has released its 12 month progress report "Along the Road Home" on the implementation of the 2008 White Paper on homelessness. The report gives an overview of the progress in breaking the cycle through provision of affordable housing, turning off the tap through early interventions, and improving services.

National Quality Framework
The Australian, State and Territory governments are seeking your views and ideas on how to improve services for people who are homeless.
Governments are talking to people who are homeless, service providers, community groups and others with an interest in homelessness about improving the quality of services for people who are homeless. Public consultations are being held in all states and territories between February and March 2010 There is no need to register, just turn up at a workshop venue that suits you. There will also be separate discussions with people who are experiencing homelessness. Call 1800 300 125 if you would like to know more about this.
