Information for Potential Residents

Wruwallin House is a medium to long term accommodation service situated in Bankstown. We accept referrals from young people between the ages of 16 to 19 years of age who require supported accommodation. We believe that if young people are unable to live at home, they need adequate secure housing as well as an opportunity to develop skills to live independently.

Staff
Wruwallin House is staffed 24 hours seven days a week. The staff provide support and assistance wherever needed during your stay.

 Funding
Wruwallin House is funded through the Supported Accommodation Assistance Program (SAAP). The funding is from both the Commonwealth and State Governments.

What do we offer?

Ø Accommodation for up to 2 years.

Ø Living and social skills programs.

Ø Safe and secure housing

Ø Assistance to young people to identify their needs and goals and ways to meet these needs and goals.

Ø Assistance to move onto  independent living situations and permanent housing.

 

Eligibility Criteria

Ø Young people between the ages of 16 – 19 years;

Ø Homeless;

Ø In receipt of or eligible for an income, this may include DoCS financial support;

Ø In need of medium to long term accommodation;

Ø Assessed by a SAAP Crisis Service as having the skills to move into a medium term service; and

Ø Having attempted to be reconciled and / restored to the family situation if appropriate.

 

Cost

Currently, the cost of accommodation is $55 per week of your income. This covers all your food, electricity, gas and house activities and house outings.
